THE DREAM AND THE CREATIVE PROJECT

We will meet at KESTRELS BROOKLYN, NY
Friday June 19th 7-10pm 
Saturday June 20th 10-5pm
Sunday June 21st 10-5:30pm

We will commune for 3 days to let our bodies and psyches tell our personal and collective stories. Each participant will ask for a dream about a creative project (a role, a film, a novel, a painting etc.) and unearth what surprising magic or horror or sorrow or irreverence or revolution or desire or... is waiting in the unconscious to rise up and be integrated into the creative project. 

The world is currently in mud and on fire and falling off a cliff. We need our imaginations more than ever and yet, the onslaught of information and outside images keeps us from it.  To access the imagination, we need to have soft nervous systems (which most of us have the opposite these days), to feel some containment so that we can express beyond what we might normally allow (hello fury, hello numbness, hello awe, hello fire, hello help) And all in service  that the waking of imagination can contribute to the yearning story/collective dream of our times. 

PROCESS

We will begin our time together cultivating a soft and open nervous system and a sturdy and flexible container. This will allow us to feel our feelings and to follow our own images and impulses, dissolving the need to please/obey the other or the culture/industry. We practice moving away from the collective consciousness (of right and wrong, better and less than)  and into our own specificity.  

From here we will work privately on the mat exploring our own individual dreams and creative material in our bodies and with our senses. 

Following working with the sensorial, we will bring what came through with art supplies and journaling. We will spend time with group work and an exploration of weaving the insights from the dreams into the creative project. 

WHY

It is a rare and incredible opportunity to explore our work as a group and to help each other illuminate our dreams and creative expression. This workshop will set the foundation so participants can begin to touch on and cultivate a dream work practice.

This intensive is for participants who can wholeheartedly commit to the entire 3 day workshop. Dream Work experience is not as necessary as a commitment and willingness to fully explore.
